The January meeting will have a full agenda and there will be voting on an issue that has arisen so mark your calendars and plan to attend.
Wortham Park Friends, Inc. (formerly Friends of Gus Wortham) will be given time at the January meeting for a brief presentation (about 10 minutes). Baxter Spann, Gus Wortham Park’s golf course architect, has been invited to attend. Jeff Ross, of the Houston Botanic Garden, has been invited back to give a brief update on his proposal since he last presented at our August meeting. Then attendees will have an opportunity for questions and answers from both groups. The Idylwood Board of Directors will then give a brief statement and a vote will be taken as to this issue:
Whether or not to rescind the Idylwood Board of Directors’ October 2013
letter to Mayor Anise Parker and Houston City Council in favor (conditionally) of the Houston Botanic Garden.
- VOTE YES to rescind the letter
- VOTE NO to let the letter stand [take no action]
The votes will be counted and results announced immediately and will also appear in February’s Newsletter.
More details about the January meeting will appear in the next newsletter so everyone will have notice of what will take place and an opportunity to attend and cast their vote.
Frank Lovoi (or Jo Ann Luco in his place) and Idylwood Secretary Diane Kopfensteiner have agreed to oversee voting tally and President Wendy has asked Richard Schafer to also help oversee voting tallies.
No unruly behavior will be tolerated and anyone displaying it will be removed from the meeting. One vote per property owned and votes must be by Members (Idylwood property owners) **ONLY**.
Look for the complete details in the January 2014 Idywood newsletter.
