HELP REPAIR IDYLWOOD’S SIDEWALKS & GUTTERS

We are collecting information from Idylwood property owners interested in a GROUP bid for
improvements to sidewalks, gutters, and curbs on the front of their Idylwood property. The
GROUP bid will be prepared by single contractor for all households participating to share
upfront costs for each owner. After receiving the GROUP bid, we will allocate costs to each
homeowner based on their linear square footage needed. The plan is to share costs so that we
can improve our sidewalks without having to do on an individual property-by-property basis.
Average cost is $2,000 depending on how extensive the work is, but we are hoping to gain cost
savings through this process.
In Houston, the homeowner is responsible for the costs to improve the sidewalks, gutters, and
curbs on their property. According to the City Code of Ordinances, if a sidewalk falls into
disrepair, the owner is liable for the cost of repairs.
